Sophie Warburton

Sophie advises individual and corporate clients in relation to property law, real estate and business acquisitions, commercial contract negotiations and development projects. She regularly advises sellers and buyers in relation to due diligence investigations on property and business transactions, including local regulatory, duty and licensing aspects of those transactions. She also advises landlords and tenants on leasing matters, and provides advice in relation to strata titles and volumetric titles.

Sophie was a panel member at the RICS Cayman Islands Property & Construction Conference in 2019.

Before joining Ogier in 2018 Sophie was an associate at another major offshore law firm, in the Cayman office.

Sophie has a wide range of experience practising in commercial and property law in Western Australia, including acting on large residential property developments and advising in relation to real estate and business acquisitions and disposals. She also has in-house experience with a  not-for-profit, private health care provider working on redevelopment and green fields hospital development projects and advising on commercial contracts, procurement and facilities management.

Sophie received her law degree from the University of Western Australia and her Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law, Australia.

Sophie is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association.
