Cline is a member of the Local Practice and Funds Team at Ogier where he uses his past experience to advise clients on Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate, Property Law, Project Development and Employment & Immigration.
Prior to joining Ogier in 2013, Cline was an elected Member of the Legislative Assembly for thirteen years, twelve of those years he served as Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. He also served as Ministerial Councillor as well as Minister.
During his tenure as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, he obtained a broad range of legal and legislative experience, representing the Cayman Islands Government both internationally and locally on various boards and committees. He has chaired various Government negotiating
teams with responsibility for the successful early termination of monopoly contracts with Cable & Wireless, and in renegotiating the exclusivity of the contract with Caribbean Utilities Corporation as well as the license renewal and terms and conditions for the Water Company.
He has represented Government on many complex public and private sector partnership negotiations including the Cruise Berthing Facility, Redevelopment of the Owen Roberts Airport, and the development of the Royal Water Tender Cruise Terminal with the Florida Caribbean Cruise
Association.
As a former Minister of Tourism Cline has significant experience working with developers to negotiate concessions for new Tourism projects as well as acquisitions.
Cline was also involved in the negotiations of the agreements relating to the establishment of Health City Cayman Islands and the Special Economic Zone regime as well as the development of the required legislative framework to implement those projects.
Cline obtained his LLB with Honors from the University of Liverpool in 2010 Cline is a Member of the Cayman Bar Association and the Cayman Islands Law Society.
